DUAL MADATE - This irrigation farm is situated in the Sandveld region of Piketberg, with part of the property extending into the surrounding mountain area and offering distant views of the Atlantic Ocean. The farm is 117 hectares in size, of which 60 hectares are arable. Power is supplied by Eskom, supplemented by 48 solar panels providing an effective total of 18 kW, connected through a Grid-Tie system.

Water is supplied from three boreholes, all with a capacity of more than 200,000 litres per hour, with two currently serviced. Pump capacities for the two serviced boreholes are 85,000 litres per hour and 65,000 litres per hour respectively.

The licensed water allocation is for 120,000 m² per annum, although considerably more water is available. The property also has a dam with a capacity of 300,000 litres, with most of the irrigated area able to be gravity-fed from the dam.

Three pivot irrigation systems are installed, sized at 6.5 hectares × 2 and 7.5 hectares. All 20.5 hectares under the three pivot irrigation systems are currently planted with lucerne.
