Wikipedia describes Port Elizabeth also called (Ibhayi in Xhosa or Die Baai in Afrikaans) or it's in many colloquial references such as " The friendly city " or "The Windy City "as the major seaport city and most populous city in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. In respect of lifestyle , Port Elizabeth boasts a range of shopping malls from the smallest local suburbia options to the top end three regional shopping centers namely Walmer Park , Greenacres and the recently built Bay West shopping Centre on the N2 giving its own contribution to the beauty of the famous Garden route as you enter PE from Jeffers bay north of the city. Added to that modern lifestyle, the city boasts of some of the best medical centers and the magnificent campus of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan university which will include a medical school from 2020. The city has facilities catering for cricket, rugby union, athletics, association football, field hockey and many other sports. Its coastal location also makes it a base for many watersports. Port Elizabeth has an oceanic climate (Cfb). The area lies between the winter rainfall, Mediterranean climate zones of the Western Cape and the summer rainfall regions of eastern South Africa. Winters are cool but mild and summers are warm but considerably less humid and hot than more northerly parts of South Africa's east coast.[57] The climate is very even throughout the year with extreme heat or moderate cold rare.
